  1. What is TDYPerDiem?

    We are an online service that allows you, the government traveler, to maximize your per diem value while traveling TDY (temporary duty). We provide a hotel package that meets the particular needs of the government traveler, and we strive to offer you the best value at or below the government per diem rate. This per diem rate is only available to those who make reservations on our Web site or call us at (800) 762-5333. More information of the per diem rate can be found on the GSA website.

  2. What is a per diem package?

    A per diem package includes a deluxe room, breakfast, sack lunch, dinner, beverages, and other amenities such as free local shuttle, health club, etc. You will receive a single hotel bill within the local per diem rate for the entire hotel package. (Sack lunch available only at selected locations.)

  3. How does TDYPerDiem work?

    We work closely with participating hotels to ensure that you will receive the finest levels of service and quality while enjoying unbeatable value, so that we can offer you a lodging package including not only hotel rooms but also amenities for less than the per diem rate!

  4. How do I save money by staying at a TDYPerDiem hotel?

    Staying at a TDYPerDiem hotel, you may keep your M&IE (Meals and Incidental Expenses) money because our hotel packages take care of your daily needs. You can see how much money you will save by looking at the current per diem M&IE table.

  5. How many rooms can I reserve?

    You can reserve up to 6 rooms online. If you have a conference and would like to reserve more than 6 rooms, please call us directly at (800) 762-5333 for group reservations.

  6. Are there any cities or countries TDYPerDiem can't get me hotel rooms in?

    Currently TDYPerDiem only offers hotel rooms in major cities in the United States. You can expect us to grow dramatically to serve you in the near future! Please e-mail us at for the cities you often travel to on TDY.

  7. How do I know what price I will pay?

    The price you pay is the per diem rate for the city of your stay, which is determined by the GSA (General Services Administration), plus taxes. The TDYPerDiem hotels will not charge you above the per diem rate.

  8. In what ways can I provide TDYPerDiem with my payment?

    In general we only accept payment by credit card. You may either enter your credit card number online via our secure servers, or call us directly at (800) 762-5333. If you do not have a credit card, please call us to make special arrangements.

  9. Is it safe to give my credit card number to TDYPerDiem over the Internet?

    Yes. Here at TDYPerDiem we have made every effort to create a safe and secure environment for credit card transactions over the Internet. Using an encryption technology called SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), we protect your credit card number from being read as it is transmitted over the Internet.

  10. Can I make a TDYPerDiem hotel reservation any other way than on the Internet?

    Yes, you may call us at (800) 762-5333. If you would prefer to make your reservation over the Internet but cannot access the Internet from home, you may be able to access the Internet from work or at a local public library.

  11. How can I make special requests?

    You may put additional requests and special needs in the box on the Room Type page when you make your reservation, and this information will be forwarded directly to your hotel. We encourage you to contact your hotel prior to arrival and discuss your particular request with hotel staff. Please note that although we will make every effort to ensure that your particular needs are met, we cannot guarantee it.

  12. How can I get free meeting space?

    Many of our hotels offer meeting facilities that are ideal for your organization's conference and training needs, and in most cases there is no charge for meeting planners.   13. Am I committed to keep my reservation once TDYPerDiem reserves a room?

    Yes, as you will guarantee your reservation with a credit card. In return, we will keep the room for you even for late arrival. Your credit card will not be charged until you check out of the hotel. If you want to cancel your reservation, you must do so at least 48 hours before the date of check-in, or we may charge you for the first night's deposit on your credit card. You may cancel your reservation on our Web site or via phone at (800) 762-5333.

  14. What do I need to check in at my hotel?

    You do not have to show a credit card when you check in. All you need is a photo ID that matches the name on the room reservation, which has been guaranteed with a credit card. Please note that you do not have to be the card holder as long as your room reservation is guaranteed by a credit card.

  15. Do I have to pay the hotel for my room when I check out?

    No. You do not have to pay the hotel for your room charge at check-out. However, you must pay for incidental charges such as telephone or room service. We will handle the processing and billing of your room charge at TDYPerDiem. Upon your check-out, your final bill for the room will be charged to the credit card you provide to us online or via the telephone.

  16. Do I get a hotel receipt when I check out?

    No. The hotel will not give you a receipt for your room charge except for a receipt for incidental expenses such as phone calls. Upon check-out, you can print a room receipt online by using the My Account section on our Web site. You can also e-mail us with a confirmation number at, and we will send you a hard copy of the receipt with our logo on it via US mail.

  17. What if I don't see the city in which I want to stay?

    Unfortunately we do not offer hotels across the country at this time. Please e-mail us and we will find hotels in that city to serve you in the future, as we are adding more hotels rapidly.

  18. Which hotels or hotel chains participate with TDYPerDiem?

    We are proud to offer hotel accommodations in well-known national chains, including Best Western, Ramada, and Holiday Inn. By doing business with these respected chains, you can be assured of high quality and stellar service, as well as excellent value.

  19. Will TDYPerDiem ever sell or give my name or personal information to a third party?

    No. We respect your personal privacy. TDYPerDiem will never sell your name or personal information to mailing lists, advertisers, or other companies, although we may release aggregate statistics.

  20. Will additional services become available at TDYPerDiem?

    Yes! We are planning to expand aggressively to provide other services such as car rental and airline tickets for government travelers. Please return to our site in the future.
